I managed Laurens directly during a very challenging innovation project on materials and processing challenges. He demonstrated strong technical engineering skills as well as market insight for the business case. He was strong in analysis and problemsolving with a hands-on approach at several pilot-scale process installations. He helped in obtaining strong funding to make the Front End project viable and also did create strong patents to protect the solutions. In all he was a key member to this work for which i still remain indebted for his commitment.

Two years ago I started as science project manager of chess learning platform Chessable. I took over some tasks of Laurens, who helped me finding my way in the organization. He did a great job. He as remarkable analytical and creative skills, combined with a lot of knowledge. He listens very well and is proactive. I am happy we cooperated so constructively.

What an absolute blessing it was to have you here with our young people this afternoon. You did an excellent job! You have such a lovely manner, strong interpersonal skills, excellent lesson pacing and used story so very effectively to engage interest and teach the children about the history of Chess, the different chess pieces and the moves they can make and communicated, connected and taught 80 young people aged between 5 and 15! No easy task! You are well organised, and responsive to needs as they arise. You moved around the groups during their Chess games and this also worked well as it allowed them to ask further questions. Our young people were ALL very enthusiastic and have gone home to no doubt tell their parents and other family members what they have learned and if the family do not own a Chess set at this point in time I expect that will be on the list of games for next birthday or Christmas if not before.
